Supported by funding from the 2009 Hartford Arts & Heritage Jobs Grant Program, the Hartford BID announces a call for artists to submit creative proposals to fill unoccupied storefronts in downtown Hartford. The BID is looking for 6-8 exceptional proposals from artists and hopes to display a compelling and varied group of artwork in September 2009 that will enhance the vibrancy of downtown Hartford. Each winning artist or collaborative proposal will be awarded an honorarium of $1,500. Modest funds are also available for artist materials. Residents of Hartford, artists who maintain or lease studio space in Hartford, or students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Hartford (including University of Hartford) are eligible to apply.
